We arrived so late on the first night that the best we could do was head to town for a wind/cool down and some beers. This turned out to be an eye opener as this is a party town! Think Blackpool meets Vegas meets Soho.

Really, this was a short stop over while we travel north to Chiang Mai, but we wanted to make the most of it and it was especially exciting as we knew that Jody lives here and so was the perfect opportunity to spend some time with him (and his lovely mum who is visiting).

The first night we managed to take in some of the worst live singing ever in a local bar - its was so bad we couldn't stop laughing! Here's a short snippet of it... cover your ears!!
Quite outrageously bad... yet very funny!

The next day Jody was kind enough to show us around his city and we also had fun trying to understand the Thai postal system. In the evening we were lucky enough to see Claudette and Jody at their hotel (where they surprised with a wonderful bottle of prosecco as a wedding present - thanks again!) and then we hit some bars and a pool hall with Jody and his girlfriend, which was great fun:
